The Playstation Vita Portable is the newest portable handheld console to be released by Sony Computer Entertainment Company.  The first hit handheld console released by them was the Sony Playstation Portable (PSP).  Prior to the release of the Vita it was being called the Next Generation Portable (NGP) and was origionally announced on Janurary 27th, 2011 by the president of Sony Computer Entertainment Kazuo Hairai.  The reason behind using the name Vita is it means life in Latin.  Sony’s take on this is because the new console will drive life into everything from gaming, online and social media connectivity.  For a quick look at the Vita check out the following video:

Getting into the features of the Sony Playstation Vita Portable you will be able to play games no matter where you are located as long as you have access to a 3G or WiFi network.  Many gaming developers will be taking full advantage of online features in order to wow the gamers.  Not only will this system give you the abilities to play anywhere you desire they are changing the way games are played by including both front and rear facing cameras.  By having use of the cameras gaming will change with the use of Augmented Reality that will allow you to bring your own physical world into the world of gaming.    Many gamers main focus is of course what will the games bring me.  Well the fact that Sony has not wasted their time in the handheld market they are bringing the following games to the Playstation Vita, and this is only the start.

The Sony Playstation Vita Portable is packed full of features every gamer wants to see.  Not only is the system slammed with great features but where it counts most with gamers is the games.  As we discussed earlier Sony is pulling everything out of their bag with the launch of the system.  The system is set to launch at the end of this year and is currently available for pre-order.  There will be two models of the system available at launch with the only difference being is one has both a 3G and WiFi connection and the cheaper model will only have WiFi in the system.  The 3G/WiFi model will cost $299.99 and the WiFi only model will come in at $249.00 when the system is launched at the end of this year.  Clearly the Playstation Vita Portable is here to be a game changer in the video gaming world.
